One more day until our adventure begins. We have gone almost 600 miles getting from Mesa to Clay Springs to Santa Monica Pier. We are still 35 miles away!
Mike, Mike and Don After spending time with family, we thought Mike's Dad was doing much better, so we traveled a few hours north of Dallas to visit our Oklahoma friends Pat and Mike Bowline. We stayed near a huge lake in Oklahoma called Grand Lake. We played a lot of Pitch and laughed alot. Don and Susan Schnieder from west OK met us there and we rented a pontoon boat.
Saturday, over 1,000 people filled the little town of Kaycee, Wyoming for the dedication of a park in Chris LeDoux's honor. Chris died in 2005. The picture below was taken the day they set the bronze and before the flowers were plant...

Connie and I had stopped there years ago when we were on the way to Tom Arnold and Rosanne Barr's house. Anyway, that is a different story..... Connie and I stopped at the post office in Eldon. The postmaster said that he lived in the house and asked us if we would like to see his collection of pottery. How crazy was this, we met him at the house and went inside. We were really trusting. He had a beautiful collection of a special kind of pottery that I had never heard of, but it was impressive. He showed us clothes on the back porch that people can borrow to have their picture in to look like the old man and women. They have built a Welcome Center that is very nice and has a lot of history of the house and Grant Wood. Did you know that the picture models were father and daughter? ...
