Black Hills Of South Dakota



We made it out of Wyoming but barely. The spring, first day of summer brought tornadoes to southern Wyoming and western South Dakota.................... welcome to my life. It has rained every night but the days have been pretty good. We drove into Sturgis to see what the excitment was and found a lot of motorcycle shops and t-shirt shops. Neat little town of about 11,000.




We also rode our iron horse into Deadwood. I don't know if ya'll know but Wild Bill Hickock was shot while playing poker.  Some coward named Jack McCall shot Bill in the back. Remember, you heard it here first. Sorry to bring you bad news this way but somebody has to spread the news.





The downtown is really neat to walk around. It has a lot of stores but every one has a few slot machines or poker tables that you can try your luck at. But welcome to my world...................... guess what happened while we were there...................

but it turned out to be a good day and tomorrow we are going to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Stay tuned for more "Days of our Lives...."

Broken Arrow, Oklahama

We left our motor home at Grand Lake and spent a few days at Pat and Mike's home in Broken Arrow.  Astrid caught a ride with Michelle's in-laws, Mark and Cheryl, who also have an RV.  They were visiting Scott and Michelle and was passing our way on their way to Branson for a Rally.  Pat and Mike's granddaughter, Madison, is Astrid's age and they had a lot of fun.  They put miles on a little scooter. And had a sleep over.

Mayberry, North Carolina

We made a side trip to Mt. Airy, North Carolina.  This is where Andy Griffith was born and the Andy Griffith Show was fashioned after this town.  We toured the Andy Griffith Museum.  It was a trip down memory lane.  It was amazing how much we remembered form those shows. It was a fun stop and recommend for you to stop by if you are in the area! We went up one side and down the other side of Main Street and ate at Barney's. Floyds Barber Shop was closed....
