Site Seeing in Flagstaff, Arizona

Well......................... we are on our way to Wyoming, but on the way we are going to take some time, to let the snow go away, and see some sites. We took a short little trip to Wupatki Sunset Crater Volcano.

A field of black cinders lay where they cooled 800 years ago.

The hillsides were partial black with fine ground cinders with green trees growing through it.

San Francisco Peaks still had snow on them, (we tried to stay away from that.) but they were neat to look at from afar.

The Wupatki Pueblo Ruins where really neat. These dwellings have been standing in the desert for 800 years..........amazing. We were able to climb right on the dwellings and on the way up the path we saw one of our small friends climbing on the rocks and he was kind enough to stand still so I could take his picture. Click on the picture to enlarge it.  The lizard's throat is a awesome blue.

This area could use some of the rain that Nashville got!!!!!

The next stop on the tour was Walnut Canyon National Monument. It has some neat cliff dwellings sites that were earned by walking almost a mile down and then back up the hills.

The walk out was just as awesome......................... the canyons, rocks and the sunlight.

Oh yea..... by the way..... all this walkin'...... where I used to fly!!!!!

Well until next time....... see ya in the next Days of our Lives....
