Social Activities at Cottonwood

Most of the people that come to Cottonwood Cove have been coming back for years. Some over 30 years. They have established a "Wreck" Hall. It is a three sided building with a dirt floor. But it does have class. Most of it is carpeted. We have two refrigerators, a coffee pot, and a roaster. We have some out pot lucks there. Someone is playing games there most every night.



We usually have 4 to 6 people playing dominos. Mike does not like to sit by Sharon (Blue) or Jean (white) as they always take his next play. We do alot of laughing.






Usually 6 of us play a game called Hand and Foot. It is like Canasta. I must say, that I have not been very lucky at cards.

Chris LeDoux Memorial Broncs & Barrels

Friday night, they held a Memorial Rodeo in the honor of Chris LeDoux.  Chris and Peggy LeDoux's daughter, Cindy, did barrel racing.  Casey LeDoux, who is 4 years old also ran the barrels.  Actually, Cindy ran, and Casey rode. Beau LeDoux, the youngest son, did bronco riding. Beau stayed on the entire ride.  Awesome!

First Week at the Box R Ranch

Every day, we see wild animals.  These are Mule Deer that come to graze in the yard. The Box R used to take people out hunting.  They were Outfitters.  The walls of the lodge and cabins are covered with trophys.  These are in the dining room.  Please don't notice the stuff on the tables.  We are deep cleaning the pantry and stacking the stuff on the tables. This is in the living room in the Lodge.  I need to go outside to see where the rest of it is. There is snow in the mountains surrounding us.  I was getting one of the cabins ready for guests, when I saw this beautiful scene and had to stop to go get the camera.  See the bird on the antlers?  Also, the cattle in the background.  Mike helped spay around 200 cows the other day.  He was covered with calf poo splaters.  I wish I would of taken the camera to record that!
