Final Day to Chicago

We traveled to Chicago and went from Adams Street and started the rest of our journey at the sign for the "Begin Route 66." Jackson Street is actually the beginning, but it is now a one way going the wrong way.  Normally, I would of gotten out of the car and taken a picture as Mike drove under the sign.  But, it was way too dangerous in Chicago traffic.

We ate lunch at Dell Rhea Chicken Basket.

On to Joliet.  We drove past the Route 66 race track.

We stopped at the Route 66 Museum in Joliet.  Mike found his perfect chair.

Heading south we saw several iconic sites.

We stopped at the Polk-a-Dot Diner and had ice cream.

Even the bathrooms were filled with nostalgia. In the ladies room....

In the men's room....

On to Dwight and south to Bloomington, Illinois.

This officially closes our Route 66 Journey.  It was everything we expected and more.  We got to visit friends along the way and see some amazing scenery.  Thank you all who followed our journey and supported us.  Love, Mike and Deb
