Traveling to Texas

Mike's brother from Nashville, Robert, and his wife Dawn and granddaughter, Madison met us in Hope, Arkansas.  We called our first friends we met  them on the road in 2006 to meet us in Hope.  AW and Jolly, brought their motor home and stayed next to us.  We loved seeing them and introducing them to family.  They next morning we traveled on to a campground near Mike's parents and were blessed to be able to spend some quality time with them.  Robert's birthday was July 8th and we had a family party. 

This is Mike's Mother, Kay and his step-dad Roy.  Roy is the only father Mike has known.  They married when he was two.

Astrid, our granddaughter is 10 today.  This is the first birthday that I have not been with her.  Usually, Mike and I are in Texas in May or I fly there.  We are in Flagstaff, Arizona on our way to Wyoming.

Broken Arrow, Oklahama

We left our motor home at Grand Lake and spent a few days at Pat and Mike's home in Broken Arrow.  Astrid caught a ride with Michelle's in-laws, Mark and Cheryl, who also have an RV.  They were visiting Scott and Michelle and was passing our way on their way to Branson for a Rally.  Pat and Mike's granddaughter, Madison, is Astrid's age and they had a lot of fun.  They put miles on a little scooter. And had a sleep over.

Mayberry, North Carolina

We made a side trip to Mt. Airy, North Carolina.  This is where Andy Griffith was born and the Andy Griffith Show was fashioned after this town.  We toured the Andy Griffith Museum.  It was a trip down memory lane.  It was amazing how much we remembered form those shows. It was a fun stop and recommend for you to stop by if you are in the area! We went up one side and down the other side of Main Street and ate at Barney's. Floyds Barber Shop was closed....
