Arizona Bike Week
This week is Bike week in Arizona and we went on a Poker Run Sponsored by the Mesa Fire Department. A Poker Run is where you pick a playing card from five different places and the rider with the best hand and the rider with the worst hand wins. We rode over 200 miles and stopped at differnt locations to pick up a playing card for our "hand."
Our 2nd stop was at the Drift Inn Saloon in Globe. The Drift Inn, by local lure, is the longest continually open bar in Arizona. The upstairs was a "whore house" during the early years. Welcome to the greater downtown area of Globe.
Our3rd stop was Boston's Lake Hour Grill. The stop was not marked very well and we drove right past it but so we wouldn't feel so bad as so did about 90% of everyone on the ride.
Our 4th stop was Jake's Corner Bar. This happened around lunch time and they had pulled pork sandwiches ready for the bikers. Jake's was about 130 miles into the trip.
Our 5th and final stop was at West World. West World is an outside facility that houses several major events happing in the Phoenix area.
All these events a huge with thousands of people attending. By the time we got arrived there were 1,000 to 2,000 bikes there.
With a good nights sleep behind us we are almost ready for another "Day of our Lives."
