Tortilla Flats, Arizona




Yesterday, Mike and I went on a motorcycle ride in Apache Junction, Arizona. We started out in Goldfield by the Superstition Mountain.








We headed toward Tortilla Flats. It is an old town that is now a tourist site. We got there just in time for lunch.









The ride up the mountain was breathtaking!






This picture does not do it justice. There were miles of wild flowers in an array of colors.
















We stopped the bike and got off to take close up pictures.










We made it back down the mountain just as the sun was setting. It was a beautiful end to a wonderful day!

Chris LeDoux Memorial Broncs & Barrels

Friday night, they held a Memorial Rodeo in the honor of Chris LeDoux.  Chris and Peggy LeDoux's daughter, Cindy, did barrel racing.  Casey LeDoux, who is 4 years old also ran the barrels.  Actually, Cindy ran, and Casey rode. Beau LeDoux, the youngest son, did bronco riding. Beau stayed on the entire ride.  Awesome!

Lake Placid, New York

We travelled from Niagra Falls to Lake Placid, New York.  It was not in our itinerary, but then again, we do not really have one.  We were heading towards Maine and saw that Lake Placid was just a little way off our path.  So....side trip! We stayed at the Lake House overlooking Mirror Lake. Our room was rustic with a beautiful view. We toured the town and ate at a brewery. Again, we walked over 2 miles.  The next day we toured the Olympic Center.  The 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics were held at Lake Placid. On the way out of town to Trapp Family Lodge, we went to the Olympic Ski area and took the tram to the top.  I do not like heights.  Freaked me out.  Mike loved it. Not loving it!!!
