Desert in the Springtime

Just "Chillin"

Image
We haven't been doing to much except just chillin and enjoying. Deb has a new set of golf clubs so we went to try them out and they work. They do push to the right a little but it is probably because the shafts are crooked or something! Here is a picture from the surrounding area. The blooms on the cactus are great.

San Tan Flats

Image
A few friends went to a bar/restaurant called "San Tan Flats". Really a neat place. They have music piped outside and most of the seating is outside. They light barrels with wood and let the patrons roast marshmellows and make "somores". It was in the upper nineties and the guys were lighting fires in barrels! Only in Arizona.

Mesa Fire Fighters Poker Run

Image
We began our day at the Superstition Harley-Davidson at 8:00am for a pancake breakfast. It was our first Poker Run. We did not have the winning hand, but we did have a great time. One of the stops on the run was at Greasewood Flats. It was an original stage stop in the "olden days." It has a lot of character and even a place to park your horse. We ended up at West World of Socttsdale after traveling a little over 100 miles. It is Arizona Bike Week and most of the festivities are taking place at West World.

Sedona, Arizona

Image
Today we went to see Mike and Sue Radford. They have purchased 12 acres of land by Sedona. It will be the perfect place to build a home. We hiked around the acreage and did not see one snake. After visiting Mike and Sue's land, they took us for a tour of Sedona. We went up the mountains where the road was mostly dirt and big rocks. The rock formations were absolutely amazing. We were told that Sedona is in the top 10 places to visit in the World. The pictures do not do justice to these majestic structures. The rock formation below is named "Cow Patties." Can you tell why?

Astrid in Texas

Image
Our Granddaughter Astrid had her first softball game in Texas Monday. Her team is called Fillies. When Michelle played ASA ball in the 80's her team was the Phillies. Cool. I am very excited to be flying to Dallas April 25th for a couple of weeks. I will be there for two of Astrid's games. She loves to play and says she is a good swinger. I will be there for Michelle and Astrid's birthdays. Astrid will be 8 on May 3rd. I won't tell you how old Michelle will be.
